Thoughts for
reflection as you prepare your weekly journal
1. What did you observe/read this week? What did
you see, smell, i.e.. "empirical" evidence.
2. Where did your activity occur? (physical environment, e.g. home, emergency
room, nursery, etc.)
3. What conclusions can you make about what you
observed/read?
4 What did your observations/readings make you speculate
about?
5. Has what you have learned this week raised any doubts in your
mind?
6. What issues/ideas did you question from your
observations/readings?
7. Were problems raised or problems solved for you by this
observations/weeks readings?
8. Have you learned any new skills this week? You should be finding good stuff to
learn.
9. Were there any artifacts (things, articles, material from other courses) that you should include in your
on-line journal?
10. What did you think about the way you invested
you time this week? (Did it represent your best work? Were you interested in it?
11. Did you look at any sites on the internet that
were useful for better understanding what is going on at your intern site? How?
12. Have there been any incidents this week where you
have had an opportunity to apply experiences from life or other courses? Have
you found any outside opportunities to use what you observed at your intern
site?
13. Have you learned anything that helps you in dealing with people?
14. Have you had difficulties this week which require
additional thought and/or different strategies?
15. Has anything happened which would make your life
in and out of the classroom either more or less meaningful?
16. Have you learned anything which has made you think about the world
and/or your discipline differently?
